Case of the Missing Teddy Bear or RIP

March 30th, 2007 Posted in This n That

So the boys both have a Build a Bear Workshop Teddy Bear from a birthday party several years ago. Connor at 8 has decided that he’s too old for “Calvin” and Owen lately has taken to calling “Boomer” his “little brother”.  For awhile, Boomer was even sleeping with Owen.

I realized the other day that I haven’t seen Boomer around in awhile so I asked Owen about him.  He replied that “his little brother died”.  Now lately (though its finally waning) Owen has been obsessed with dying and in particular my mother who died of breast cancer when I was 23.  So I asked Owen to expand.  He told me his little brother got hit by a car.  After prying further, I get out of him that he and the little girl next door had buried Boomer in the backyard!!  Beyond our lawn is a wooded area that we let the kids dig all they want in.  So RIP Boomer.  I suppose I should dig him up and try to wash him?
