Matchy Matchy
October 24th, 2006 Posted in This n ThatAllright, I have to admit it - I DO like when my kids’ clothing matches or at least goes nicely together. For some odd reason, my 7 year old HATES to match. I can’t tell you how this makes me feel but I say nothing and try to “encourage” this or that shirt which would look SO nice. All to no avail, the kid will not take any clothing direction from me whatsoever. :0
I’ve tried to step back and NOT care. I still recall the beginning of it all when their father would put their PJs on mismatched. I’d ask him, “Why can’t you find the matching top/bottom? They are all in the drawer”. “Does it matter”, He’d say. sigh. The answer obviously is NO it does not matter in the scheme of things. So I’d let it go and just listen to that little voice inside screaming at me for not helping everyone match better!
This all comes up because today was RED day at school and lol…I can’t tell you how happy it made me inside that Connor chose a RED pair of shorts and a RED top (with navy accents)…something he’d normally never put together.
The little joys of parenting. ![]()

That’s funny, because William (6) for the past few years will ONLY wear matchign colors! It’s either all red, all navy, or all gray. And everything is plain and solid so mixing and matching would look good but he won’t do it. I would love to know how/why they come up with these things and stick with it for years!

LOL…too funny! The only thing consistent about parenting is that it changes! We’ll see what the future holds in clothing for us both!
